What we do

Legal questions are hard to even start with. Most people do not know whether what happened to them is something the law recognises, how much a claim of that kind has been worth in the past, or how long they have to act. ClaimGavel is built to answer that first question in plain English.

You describe what happened in your own words, and we give you:

• a view on what type of claim it might be and which UK jurisdiction it falls under;
• how similar situations have been treated in published UK cases, with indicative compensation ranges;
• the likely time limit for bringing a claim, and the kind of evidence that tends to matter;
• and, if your situation looks like it may be worth pursuing, the option to be connected with an independent solicitor.

What we are not

We are not a law firm. We are not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and we do not provide legal advice or representation. Using ClaimGavel does not create a solicitor-client relationship. Our assessment is general information generated with the help of AI from published data — it can be incomplete or wrong, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor about your specific circumstances. How we are funded

ClaimGavel is free for the people who use it to assess a claim. We may receive a fee from a solicitor or law firm when we introduce you to them. This never changes the assessment you are shown, and you are always free to take our information to any solicitor you like — you are under no obligation to use anyone we suggest.

Where we operate

ClaimGavel is intended for legal matters in England & Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Different rules, time limits and courts apply across these jurisdictions, and our assessment takes that into account as far as it can.
